MSW Newsletter - Stories of Interest 5/21/12

I, captain obvious, find that it's next to impossible to keep up with every story. I always hear something interesting, scary, funny, newsworthy, etc and it all tends to get lost in the shuffle. If you look on the side of my webpage, I have links to the Drudge Report, Drug War News, Antiwar News, and Ron Paul related news. So I've decided to pick a story from each category, plus anything else that seems worth reading, and make every attempt to consolidate them into one place.

So let's all welcome the MSW Newsletter. Rather than posting each story individually on every social network, I'll do my damnedest to post one of these every few days. Nothing earth-shattering, hopefullly you take interest, but this is as much for me as it is for you, so check it out and hopefully you keep coming back.

Hempcrete, Made From Hemp, Used To Build Houses
Imagine you had a building material that was energy-efficient, non-toxic and resistant to mold, insects and fire. The material may even have a higher R-value, or thermal resistance, than concrete, a claim that is still being investigated. The only problem? The base of the Hempcrete creation is hemp, which comes from the cannabis sativa plant -- the same one that produces marijuana, which is a federally banned substance.

Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Idaho National Guard, and four Idaho police departments raided the homes of 13 other headshop owners and employees on May 10. All of the headshops had their inventory seized.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Chicago again today, demonstrating against the NATO summit, with a focus on condemning the ongoing NATO occupation of Afghanistan

In Minnesota, Paul organizers won a decisive 12 of 13 delegates to the RNC at the Rivers Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, wrapping up the North Star State’s two-tier nominating contest.  Earlier this spring, Paul supporters won 20 of 24 delegates at district conventions.  In all, the Paul camp has swept the state of Minnesota winning 32 of the state’s 40 national delegates.
